Siete lecciones de arquitectura
This book gathers the “Seven Lessons on Architecture” that the architect Alberto Campo Baeza gave at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts of San Fernando, RABASF, in February and March 2023, on the occasion of the awarding of the RABASF Medal of Honor to the School of Architecture of Universidad Politécnica de Madrid, ETSAM-UPM. The seven texts on which the lectures are based present the key themes of Campo Baeza’s thought and work – Beauty, Wisdom, Surrender and Universality, Intellectual Enjoyment, Memory, Time and Light – seven themes that have been essential in his career as a practitioner and professor and which help the author to present the ideas behind his design process. In addition, the book includes a carefully curated selection of images with examples of contemporary architecture and a bibliography with recommendations of architectural theory and literature discussed by the author himself.
